オンラインシンでのシンポジウムに参加し、無事スケジュールを経て、終了しました。新潟大学から参加した学生2名は、グループディスカッションでの役割を認識して遂行し、最終プレゼンテーションと質疑応答の役を果たしました。

オンラインシンポジウムには、新潟大学の他Ahfad University for Women（14名）、Maastricht University（6名）、Thammasat University（7名）から、広く世界の国々の国籍をもつ学生が参加し、主として英語を共用したグループ学習を進めました。

検討したテーマはMental healthとPlanetary healthが設定されて、スーダン、タイ、ミャンマーなどの地域とその地域独自の保健課題を設定し、よりよいヘルスに向けた政策を検討し提案ました。

学習内容の詳細は示せませんが、グローバルな視点からヘルスに関わる現況を見える化（mapping）し、支援等の施策の介入すべき点をその必要性と期待できる成果を発表しました。参加した他のメンバーやチューターからは忌憚のない指摘や質問を受けていましたが、それらより、よりよい政策提案に向けて批判的な質の高いディスカッションを経験しました。

3科目の履修は、大学院ならではの学際的な学習、英語を共用しつつ国籍・大学を越えたメンバーとの意見交換からの学習内容だけではない経験だったと思います。大変お疲れさまでした。

この科目履修については後日、グローバルヘルスプログラムを修了した証書を発行される予定です。学修成果を今後の専門キャリアにつなげ、世界を視野にもった活動や研究を進める自信にしていってもらいたいです。

The online symposium was successfully held and concluded according to schedule. The two students from Niigata University who participated understood and fulfilled their roles in the group discussions and contributed to the final presentation and Q&A session.

In addition to Niigata University, the online symposium was attended by students from Ahfad University for Women (14 students), Maastricht University (6 students), and Thammasat University (7 students), representing a wide range of nationalities from around the world. Group learning was conducted primarily in English.

The themes under discussion were mental health and planetary health. Participants identified specific regions—such as Sudan, Thailand, and Myanmar—and their unique health challenges, and then examined and proposed policies aimed at improving health.

While I cannot disclose the specific details of the coursework, students visualized (mapped) the current state of health from a global perspective and presented the areas where intervention is needed, along with the necessity and expected outcomes of support measures. Although they received candid feedback and questions from other participants and tutors, these interactions led to high-quality, critical discussions aimed at developing better policy proposals.

I believe that taking these three subjects was an experience that went beyond the curriculum alone, offering the kind of interdisciplinary learning unique to graduate school and the opportunity to exchange ideas with members from different nationalities and universities while using English as a common language.
